Old Town Hall(
Staroměstská radnice ) - dating from the 11th century, with its 14th-century
60m -tall tower at the end ,which contains astronomical clock, and arcaded

Powder Gate
( Prašná Brána ) - The name comes from its use as a gunpowder magazine
in the 18th century. 65m-tall tower was started in 1475 for King Vladislav
II Jagiello at the site of one of Staré Město's original 13 gates.

St. Vitus Cathedral
( Katedrála sv. Víta ) - a massive 14th-century Gothic structure towering
above the
walls of Prague Castle, containing the tombs with remains of Charles IV,
Wenceslas IV , George of Poděbrady , and George II.
Dimensions of
cathedral are 124 metres in lenght , the greatest width in the crossing
part of the aisles is 60 metres and the height of the vault 33 metres.
The vault is carried by 28 massive pillars.
The building
itself divides into two parts . The first part is presbytery and transept,
second is the actual cathedral aisle with windows and the West facade.
The most beautiful
chapel is the Chapel of St. Wenceslas fulled of frescoes and more
than 1300 semiprecious stones.
There is no
charge to enter the cathedral, but three places inside ( the Great Tower,
the Royal Crypt and the Royal Mausoleum ) charge admission ( included
in the 100,- Kč castle ticket )
These places are
open daily from 9am to 5pm (until 4 pm in winter ).
The Great
Tower is open daily, from 10 am to 4 pm , except Monday and if the
weather is bad.

Old - New Synagogue
( Staronová synagóga ) is Europe's oldest active synagogue and one
of Prague's earliest Gothic buildings.
The mythical
Golem legend - The legend about Rabbi Low tells that he created a servant
called Golem , an artificially created human being made of mud from the
Vltava and brought to life by supernatural means.
The synagogue
closes at 2pm on Friday.
A pilgrimage place
with a copy of the Italian Santa Casa including also the baroque church
of the Nativity. The ground is encircled by cloisters and a chapel. The
spire houses a carillon which consists of 30 Loreta bells which tune a
song "We Greet You a Thousand Times "( every hour ). Most valuable is the
so called Loreta Treasure, a collection of sacral objects from the 16th
to 18th centuries. The most famous of these is the Diamond
Monstrance adorned with 6.222 diamonds.

) -

Its the most
popular sight in Prague , the largest ancient castle in the world - 570
m long, an average of 128 wide and occupying 7,28 hectares.
The Castle is
the residence of the head of the state , a magnificent gallery and a treasury.

Petřín View
Tower - an iron 60m high, built in 1891 on the occasion of the Jubilee
Exhibition as a free copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. 299 steps lead
up to the top platform.
